Celeste was born and raised in Southern Ontario where she was active in sports and theatre. Her natural curiosity and love of ideas led her to study philosophy at several schools. She then moved to Guatemala and worked in a centre for physically and mentally challenged youth. It was in her next chapter of life, while living in Nelson, that Celeste learned about Waldorf education. She was drawn to the holistic and artistic curriculum, as well as the rich relationship between student, teacher, parents and community that the pedagogy fosters. She completed the Waldorf Teacher Training in Toronto in 2005 and then moved to San Miguel de Allende, Mexico for her first Waldorf teaching position. Celeste and her daughter returned to Canada 7 years later, and they joined the community of the Nelson Waldorf School. Celeste is the current Class Two teacher.
