2009/10 Annual Fundraising Campaign
Lighting the Way to the Future
This year the Nelson Waldorf School's Annual Fundraising Campaign has been planned to be project specific. It began in the spring with recognition that the electrical installation of our professional theatre stage lighting did not meet the current Fire Code standards and needed upgrading. The upgrades have been put in motion. To support the financial costs of this work a combined effort of Board, Faculty and Parent Council has been initiated. The Parent Council initiated the grocery card program to begin to raise the funds needed for the Stage Lighting Project, and earlier this Fall the Class 7 students creatively initiated a danceathon to contribute to this project.
The next step is the School's Lighting the Way to the Future Fundraising Campaign to raise funds for both the completion of the new Stage Lighting Project, and renovations to create a third Kindergarten; both initiatives support increased enrolment in the School. This Fundraising Campaign was initiated at the Winter Faire Artisan Market by the NWS Parent Council with the Sustainable Solstice Toonie auctions of earth friendly, fair trade, handmade soulful gifts.
We encourage everyone—alumni, friends, family members, community members, and businesses—to support our school. The Nelson Waldorf School is a registered charitable society and all donations are tax deductible. So that we may continue to shine a light on our talented students, your support for fundraising initiatives is appreciated. Every little bit helps—thank you everyone!
