Beverley Barcham General Administrator
Bev, our General Administrator and Principal is now entering her tenth year with NWS. Bev's educational background includes an Associate Degree in Business Administration from Notre Dame University (in Nelson), and office management certification courses from the BC Justice Institute. This background supported Bev is her many different office positions such as reception, secretary, manager and even bookkeeping for a small credit company. Behaviour Management courses through School District #8 supported her work in the public schools as a Social and Behaviour TA and Tutor. Last year Bev received her Independent School Teaching Certification. Currently Bev is enrolled in the Waldorf Administration Program at the Rudolf Steiner College in Sacramento. Bev's journey with children is on-going to include four step-children, two birth sons, a delightful daughter-in-law, and a happy, healthy grandson. From their home in Balfour, Bev and Dave enjoy dancing, skiing, camping and walking their dogs.
Keitha Patton School Secretary
Keitha is beginning her third year at NWS as the School Secretary but her time with the School as a parent, a Board/Committee member and as a volunteer began when her daughter Oriel Scout, now in Class 8, started Kindergarten at the school. Keitha has worked in various occupations over the span of her employment history. She has been, amongst others, a Social Worker, Event Coordinator, Library Technician, Retail Manager, a Professional Hairstylist, and, most unusually, a Rent Collector in England. Many of her positions have been organizational and administratively centered which led her to pursue certification in the ABT (Applied Business Technology) program at Selkirk College. On completion of the program, Keitha was awarded the Lieutenant Governor General's Medal for outstanding achievement. With too many jobs to list, Keitha uses all of the skills she has achieved over the years to maintain the front office and contribute to the daily flow of the school. Keitha has a teenaged daughter, two stepsons, a daughter-in-law and granddaughter in England, and two cats. She enjoys her fun lovin' friends, living in Nelson, and British Comedy.
Andromeda Drake School Bookkeeper
Our bookkeeper, Andromeda, considers herself "native to Nelson," harkening back more than 40 years to when her parents left Denver, Colorado, and discovered Nelson, bringing their three young daughters to Canada. She attended Rosemont, Trafalgar, and LVR schools, before moving to Cranbrook to pursue a banking career and obtain accounting credits at what is now the College of the Rockies. With the birth of her second child, Andromeda decided to change paths to one allowing more time for family. Prior to joining NWS, she was a bookkeeper and office manager for a local college and a local law office. She and her three children now reside only a few blocks from her childhood home.
