The Marigold/Daisy Program

Below is an outline of our daily routine, as well as some other useful information. 

Our Marigold Day.

8:00~9:45    Arrival time, Free Play/Domestic activities/

                    Crafting/Painting/Baking.

9:45~10:00   Circle Time
                    (if you are arriving during this time, please wait in the hall, so as to not disturb our circle)

10:00~10:30 Morning Snack

10:30~11:45  Outside Time (Nature walk at 11:15)

11:45~12:00  Story/ Puppet-play

12:00~12:45 Lunch time   

12:45~1:00   Finishing up with lunch/table top activities to prepare for Quiet

                    Time.

1:00~2:00    Quiet Time ~ With a story and songs or lyre music

2:00~2:50    Waking up and putting mats away/simple afternoon craft & play

2:50~3:00    Goodbye Circle      

3:00~3:30    Afternoon Snack

3:30 ~4:30   Outdoor time and afternoon pick up

Our daily schedule is consistent and follows a seasonal rhythm.  When the weather permits during the warmer seasons, we picnic outdoors, take our snacks out with us and enjoy having outdoor stories and circles.  During the cooler months, it may take longer to wake up and get outside.  If the weather is especially poor, we may have a longer afternoon indoors. The above is the rhythm that we generally follow from day to day.

Our Program

This program runs Monday and Wednesday, or Tuesday and Thursday with an option of half-day spaces, 8:00 – 12:00 or full-day spaces, 8:00 – 4:30.  A Monday through Thursday morning half-day option would be available if required.  We accept a maximum of 16 children each morning with 2 staff and 8 children in the afternoon one staff.  Our staff are certified Early Childhood Educators or certified Early Childhood Assistants, and our Lead Educator/Mentor is Waldorf Trained.  We are committed to a consistent schedule and the children have the same educators as much as possible.  Our fees are $45 per day, $28 per half day.

Our Program

This program runs Monday to Friday with a choice of days, full day spaces only 8:00 – 4:30.  We accept a maximum of 8 children per day with one staff.  Our staff are certified Early Childhood Educators, and our Lead Educator/Mentor is Waldorf Trained.  We are committed to a consistent schedule and the children have the same educators as much as possible.  Our fees are $45 per day.

 

Our Year

Through the year we honour the changing seasons with songs, stories, puppet plays and seasonal crafts.  A special part of celebrating the year is through our festivals.  Festivals are celebrated with Marigold families, some with the whole Kinderhouse and some with the wider community.  Our larger festivals include:  Halloween journey, Winter faire, May Fest, and a Birthday Celebration for each child.  Through these festivals and smaller daycare events, there are many opportunities for parents and families to play an active and supportive role in our daycare.
