THE PUMPKINS ARE HERE! GET THEM TODAY & TOMORROW at the Lower Parking Lot
Get your pumpkins now - this Thursday & Friday at both drop off and pick up times.
We will have lots of shapes and sizes to choose from. Remember each student is asked to bring a pumpkin to school to be carved and used on the Halloween Journey route. Please consider buying your pumpkin from class 8 this year. Thank you. Class 4 Bottle Drive Fundraiser: - Please support Class 4’s fundraiser with your money back empty bottles and cans. All refundable containers can be placed in the bottle/can shed opposite the Bus Stop. Money collected will help Class 4 children go to the Waldorf School Olympics in 2013! Thank you for your support. The Co-op Grocery Card Fundraiser is back - the Free and easy way to support your school community.
The Kootenay Country Store Cooperative has generously offered the NWS the opportunity to raise money through the purchase of grocery cards. Co-op grocery cards provide the PAC with a 9% return on the face value of every card sold and they cost you exactly what you would pay using cash in the store. There is no additional cost to participate in this important fundraiser! Funds raised this year will be used to complete the festival room and supplies; to support ongoing work on the upper playing field; and to purchase supplies for the Kinder programs. Old-Time Contra Dance - Nelson’s Old-Time Dance and Social Club presents Old-Time Contra Dancing at the Scout Hall (310 Cedar St.) at 7 PM on Thursday, October 20. The evening features live, acoustic roots music by the local group "The Bargain Basement Balladeers". David Feldman will be teaching and calling the dances – contras, squares, and other traditional forms. All ages are welcome. No experience is necessary. The cost is $8.
Bell Choir - The Jubilate Deo Bell Choir is looking for more bell ringers. The Bell Choir practices every Wednesday evening from 7-9 pm at the Nelson United Church. Come and join us in making music with these beautiful bells. Reading music is an asset, but not necessary. If interested, please call John Pengelly (choirmaster) 250 352-5203.
Nelson Overture Concerts Society CONCERT SERIES
The Nelson Waldorf School is once again renewing the school’s donation to the upcoming Nelson Overture Concerts Society program. Students can continue to receive free entrance to the Concert Series (with reservations stating you are from the Waldorf School). SERIES DATES: -November 20, 2 pm - Opera performance by Isabel Bayrakdarian (soprano) & Serouj Kradjian (piano) -January 28, 8 pm - Classical Piano performance by Ang Li. -April 21, 8 pm - Symphony of the Kootenays with Koreen Kowalec on piano. |
