Tuition Reduction

- To reflect our mission to provide Waldorf education to families without religious, racial, social or economic prejudice, the Nelson Waldorf School continues to offer a Tuition Assistance (reduction) Program.
- Daycare Program: Sibling Discounts are available for this program. Tax receipts for costs are provided annually in January.
- Tuition Reduction is only available to Kindergarten and Grade student's families.
- Tuition Reduction is available only on that part of tuition not related to government funding (see Schedules B and C in the Tuition and Supply Fee Schedule). Documentation must be provided for Tuition Reduction.
- Tuition Reduction to be based on an income/asset formula as agreed to by the NWS Board of Directors and administered by the Finance Committee/Administrator or so designate.
- Upon completion of Tuition Reduction Application, all contracted tuition amounts are due and payable upon the first day of School or August 31 for returning students.
- A 10% reduction is available to those fees received on or before June 15th.
- Tuition (after consideration for reduction) will make every effort to reflect tuition increases.
- Tuition adjustments offered for Kindergarten - Grade 8 will be:
- Sibling Discounts may be requested and granted based on the following principles:
- 1st child is oldest child - full tuition
- 2nd child - up to 25% discount of full tuition
- 3rd child/4th child/5th child - up to 37.5% discount of full tuition
- Or, Tuition Reduction Program 2009/10:
- Reduction is based on "net family income" with documentation (Revenue Canada Assessment Notice) and with consideration for dependents.
- Eligibility is based on family need with reduction based on documented household income (with consideration for dependents)
- Household income as reported on Revenue Canada records
- Tuition based on a per family rate
- Eligible for 10% discount (if requested) of contracted tuition with consideration for reduction if tuition paid by June 15th.
